A Free Medical Camp was organized inside Rohtas Fort by Devotion. The camp remained very successful as it was unique in many aspects. Team at the camp consisted of 4 male and 2 lady doctors, 12 paramedics, 6 lab technicians, ECG technician, and many other volunteers. 700 people, coming from Rohtas and surrounding villages, benefited from the medical examination, medicines, blood test, sugar test, hepatitis B & C test and ECG services. All these services, along with free bus service for commuting people from far off villages, were provided by Devotion.
Chairman Devotion, Prof. Ch. Mohammad Azam, told at the occasion that the area of Rohtas was identified as potential area for health intervention in a survey conducted by the organization in District Jhelum. “It is very unfortunate that approximately 6,000 to 7,000 people, living in and around this historical fort, are totally deprived of any health facility. We intend to build a medical center for the masses of the area and this medical camp is the first step towards future welfare and developmental interventions of Devotion in the area”, He added.
The patients visiting the camp stated the initiative as a blessing for the area and thanked the organization for arranging such a multi disciplinary medical facility free of any charge.
